New York: you’ve seen it in the movies, it’s steeped in history and lots of famous people live there. So, it’s gotta be good right? Right! Let’s take a look at the 5 thoughts you’ll have when you visit New York.

OMG! The Food Here is Seriously Amazing!

Until you’ve indulged in the supersized, deliciously indulgent food of NYC, you’ll never know the true meaning of a food coma.

You’ll find cream cheese filled bagels on every corner, as well as cute, hometown-style diners that serve oversized soft drinks and the juicy burgers and fries that dreams are made of.

Dessert pies just like your Mama makes are everywhere and you’ll never have trouble finding a hip new coffee spot.

Whether you’re after a giant slice of pizza, a trip to the iconic Hooters or a hot dog from a street vendor – NYC will not disappoint.

Holy S***, is Central Park Actually that Big?

Yes my friends, yes it is. Coming in at a whopping 843-acres, it’s pretty safe to say Central Park is BIG. Visit New York’s Central Park and you’re checking off a bucket list winner.

As a must-see attraction for both locals and tourists alike, Central Park really is as amazing as everyone says it is.

It’s got a zoo, an ice rink, giant meadows and a whimsical Alice in Wonderland statue.

There are also heaps of running and walking trails, the iconic lake from Stuart Little and the enchanting Conservatory Garden that’s like a slice of European grandeur in the heart of NYC. What’s not to love?

Where Should I Go Shopping First?

A stroll down 5th Avenue will quickly reveal every shop you could possibly dream of. And we’re not talking about your typical discount variety stores, this iconic street is reserved purely for the big names in town.

Want to chuck on a pair of sunglasses, drink a coffee and eat a pastry outside Tiffany’s? Go for it. Want to ogle in wonder at the most beautiful Louis Vuitton bags you’ll ever lay your eyes on? No probs.

We’re talking Saks, Bergdorf Goodman, Prada and even Abercrombie & Fitch – you’ll get your window-shopping prowess down to a T in no time.

Will I Survive the Subway?

It can be dirty and a little dingy but if you want to see how real New Yorkers get around, ditch the taxi take at least one trip on the subway. But, of course, remain vigilant and aware like you would on any public transport.

Take a bit of time to study the map and you’ll soon realise it’s pretty easy to navigate. Plus, the prices are so low even a poor student/travel junkie can afford it! Score!

In saying that, if you can, try to walk as much as possible. You’ll see a hell of a lot more that way. Plus, you could find yourself bumping into someone famous. Eek.

All These Attractions Look Amazing AF. Where Should I Start?

New York City

Said pretty much every tourist and traveller ever. Why? Because the attractions in NYC really are incredible.

The Statue of Liberty, The Empire State Building, the 9/11 Memorial, Top of the Rock, the Museum of Modern Art, and the list goes on and on and on and on.

Take a stroll through the iconic Times Square, soar to new heights in the ear-popping, mind-blowing lift that takes you to the top of the Empire State Building (but for an even better view, the Top of the Rock at sunset is a winner) and gain a real appreciation for life at the poignant 9/11 memorial.

So, let’s go?? We’re totally down if you are 🙂
